The Herb Identification game chooses a "mystery" Herb unknown to you, which you must determine.
- You request clues in the form of Herb properties which appear in the top panel.
- When you think you have enough information to uniquely determine the Herb, you
may choose the Herb from the list at the right.
- The relevant properties for your choice appear in the bottom panel for comparison.
- Properties that match are highlighted in blue. If you chose incorrectly, as in the example above, properties not matching are highlighted in red.
- If you are at an introductory level, you can ask for all the clues, so that you simply learn to memorize the complete data for each Herb.
- As you advance, you can increase your score faster by asking for the least number of clues that will just uniquely identify the correct Herb.
- The Peek button will reveal the answer without credit or penalty.
- Once you have selected the correct answer, you can select incorrect answers without being penalized. This allows you to use the highlighting of similarities and differences to compare Herbs similar in properties to the correct answer.
The Herb Identification game teaches you to:
- Memorize the properties of each Herb.
- Compare similarities and differences between Herbs.
- Become aware of various properties common to Herbs within categories.
- Learn to recognize Herbs and sets of Herbs that match the requirements of a specific clinical case.
The Formula Identification game is very similar in design, function, and purpose to the Herb Identification game.
