Date: 20030226b Subject: Navigating among multiple windows The TCHS Self-Study Reference, up through versions 3.0.3, sometimes uses the convention of making linked information appear in either a new window or a separate window from the window in which the link appears. Once you get used to this convention, it is a convenience that allows you to keep multiple types of information well organized in separate windows. This convention is most commonly used in the TCM Database "Syndrome Browser", "Herb Browser", and "Formula Browser", where clicking on hyperlinks will cause information to appear in the main Database window. (If this window is hidden, it may appear as if nothing is happening.) To understand how this works, please see the "TCHS Help" link in the TCHS Course "Main Table of Contents". In versions 2.0.4 and later, we changed this option, as new computer users found the multiple windows somewhat confusing. In versions 2.0.4 and later, the default is to *not* create a new window. Instead the user has the option of forcing these links to create a new window. [..end..] |
